PRP Knee Pain / Arthritis treatments are now being offered in Gilbert, AZ by licensed Physician and pain expert Dr. Dylan W. Krueger, NMD. Osteoarthritis of the knee is the most common type of knee pain in older adults and can lead to disability, loss of function and chronic knee pain. Many adults will experience this type of pain to varying degrees at some point in their lifetime. Once viewed as simple “wear and tear” osteoarthritis is now better understood as a inflammatory and degenerative disorder of the joint with loss of cartilage and can lead to bone erosion. The symptoms of this condition are
- Joint Pain
- Exercise Intolerance
- Decreased range of motion
- Surrounding muscle weakness / pain
- Stiffness

Osteoarthritis of the knee can be diagnosed through case history combined with imaging studies, usually x-ray or MRI for complex presentations. Once diagnosed, patients will begin conservative therapy such as weight loss to decrease stress on the joint, exercise, physical therapy, and acetaminophen for pain relief. If unresponsive, patients will then be given NSAIDS (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) such as Ibuprofen. For additional relief, steroid injections such as cortisone or various forms of hyaluronic acid lubricants will be injected into the joint. If the pain continues past these therapies surgical options such as Arthroscopy and eventually Arthroplasty (knee replacement) will follow.

The conventional care options usually provide superficial, temporary relief at best without addressing the underlying pathology of degeneration of the knee joint. As a licensed Physician, I have been trained to always examine the pathophysiology of conditions and address them initially before palliative and temporary pain relief options are explored. I do this with nutrition, exercise, supplementation and platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections to treat knee pain and arthritis. This approach provides the body with the necessary nutrients for joint health and regenerates connective tissue through the PRP injections. The strengthening of cartilage inside the joint provides lubrication and cushioning of the joint. The platelet rich plasma treatment also involves strengthening the surrounding structures of the joint such as the MCL, LCL, PCL, patellar ligament, transverse ligament, meniscus, IT band, and quadriceps tendon.
Platelet Rich Plasma Benefits
- Pain Relief / Increased Function
- Improves Ligaments, Tendons, Cartilage, and Connective Tissue
- Utilization of your Natural Growth Factors
- Minimal Downtime
- Non-Surgical
- Non-Invasive

This type of regenerative naturopathic medicine produces clinical outcomes that have repeatedly been shown to be superior to steroid and hyaluronic acid injections and can help patients delay or sometimes avoid knee surgery entirely. Patients begin seeing improvement within 2-3 weeks typically with the best results observed 3-6 months post injection. These outcomes provide attractive alternatives to conventional care with minimal expense and downtime. Patients often return to normal living activities and begin to re-engage in hobbies and exercises that they enjoy with their friends and families.
