How Long Does PRP Last?

What is PRP?
Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is a fluid that, when injected, is believed to facilitate regeneration. Plasma is a blood component that contains special factors, or proteins, that aid in clotting. Proteins that promote cell growth are also present. PRP was generated by isolating and concentrating plasma from human blood.
The theory is that by injecting PRP into weakened tissues, your body will be stimulated to produce fresh, healthier cells, promoting healing. Since the tissue growth factors in the engineered growth injections are more abundant, researchers believe the body's tissues can recover quicker.
In Microneedling with PRP however, platelet-rich plasma is not injected but applied topically on the skin.
Take note that the cure hasn't been proven conclusively. The US Food and Drug Administration has not yet licensed it as a medication.
PRP therapies include a variety of uses for patients suffering from a variety of disorders, including neuropathy (nerve pain) and musculoskeletal injuries. In addition, PRP is used in surgical, plastic surgery, and cosmetic procedures.
Medical conditions where PRP injection is used
- Musculoskeletal injuries
- Nerve Injuries
- Hair Loss
- Postsurgical repair
Microneedling with PRP is used to treat hyperpigmentation, loose skin, acne scars, surgical scars, fine lines and wrinkles, large pores, and uneven skin texture.
How long does PRP last?
The procedure itself does not take a long time as well as healing. Microneedling with PRP would almost certainly yield instant effects. As soon as the micro-wounds develop within the skin, the body's wound-healing processes respond to repair them. Patients should continue to see visible differences in their skin for up to two weeks after the procedure; during this period, the skin can look plump and radiant. After 4–6 weeks, though, a noticeable change can be evident. At this stage, the elevated collagen effects are noticeable. This, however, is heavily dependent on the state of the patient's skin and the severity of his or her symptoms.
As in many other beauty treatments, consistency is important. While some patients may see benefits after only one micro needling session, most doctors recommend that men and women have at least four sessions spaced six weeks apart to achieve their goals. Patients with more serious problems, such as deep acne scars or severe hyperpigmentation, can require further treatment.
As a result, you should intend on returning eight to twelve weeks following your original procedure with a follow-up consultation. Bear in mind, though, that you are not required to come in right away.
Treatment results can last longer depending on a number of factors.
- Taking care of your body and skin will help you get the most out of your collagen induction therapy treatment.
- To stop premature skin sagging, drink at least eight to ten cups of water a day, depending on your weight, activity level, local temperature, and humidity levels. Your urine should be clear or very light-colored.
- You can get adequate nutrients in your diet by taking vitamin supplements or eating more nutrient-dense foods. Vitamins K, D, C, A, E, and all B vitamins are among the most important nutrients for maintaining good skin health.
- Avoid too much sunlight or exposure to ultraviolet light such as tanning machines.
