Mary Longnion, Principal
Since the fall of 2014, Mrs. Mary Longnion has been the very proud principal of Greenfield Elementary. She spent her entire career at Gilbert Public Schools, starting in 2002 as a special education resource teacher at Greenfield Junior High Grizzly. After four years as a junior high school teacher, she moved to Canyon Valley School to oversee the Special Education Department, and in 2009 she had a wonderful opportunity to be part of the opening staff of Campo Verde High School. As Campo Coyote, Mrs. Longnion served as Special Education Teacher and Department Chair, Dean of Students, and Assistant Principal before moving to The Swamp to become Head Gator.
Mrs. Longnion is a Sun Devil at heart, receiving her undergraduate degree in K-12 Special Education and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Language and Literacy at Arizona State University. When the call for leadership became too strong to resist, she pursued an additional Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.
Mrs. Longnion is incredibly fortunate to be the headmaster of Greenfield Elementary School. As the second oldest elementary school in the district, there are long standing traditions of academic excellence and strong community involvement, which she is honored to be a small part of. She believes in providing opportunities for all children to grow up and learn to their fullest potential, and in working closely with families to build a seamless home to school connection, and Greenfield Elementary is just about the best place to work and learn to be asked for.
Mrs. Longnion lives and works in Gilbert, and she loves being part of such a wonderful town and community. In her free time, she loves to be outdoors and enjoy the sunshine with her family and her dogs, and she's going to travel any chance she gets.
