Dobbins Lookout was named after James C. Dobbins, the chairman of the Phoenix Planning Commission who spearheaded efforts to purchase land that would become Doblin's lookout in 1963, and today is a popular park for residents looking escape from their busy lives with its views over Washington Park South Mountain Reserve.
