At CGCC, they make things happen.
Chandler-Gilbert Community College has something for everyone, with four campuses and more than 70 degree and credential programs in some of today's most in-demand career fields. We have low-cost, high-quality education that will ready you for whatever lies ahead. We will help you follow your passion and achieve your goals, whether you're here for university transfer, job preparation and development, or lifelong learning.
The leadership team at CGCC is a lively, diverse group of people committed to preparing our students to lead the world into a promising and prosperous future. President Dr. Greg Peterson started his higher education at a community college, and over the course of his long and fruitful academic and administrative career, he has gained a wealth of expertise and experience.
CGCC was founded in 1985 to meet the Southeast Valley's higher education needs. The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association accredited CGCC as an independent college in 1992. Chandler-Gilbert Community College is also one of the fastest-growing of the Maricopa Community College system's ten colleges, with four locations and an average of 19,000 students a year.
More than 70 degrees, licenses, and vocational training programs are available at CGCC. Our courses are taught by award-winning, nationally recognized professors who are committed to and student's success. If you want to be more successful in the workforce, transfer to a four-year university, or simply learn for personal enrichment, we're here to help.
Although the campus is small, it is well-kept. The employees are supportive, kind, and competent. There are some excellent services available.
The campus itself is made up of a combination of modern, purpose-built structures as well as structures left over from the facility's former existence as an Air Force Base. This campus has housing available, which is unusual for a community college.
These are the values that guide us as an academic culture dedicated to public service:
- Exploration leads to innovation.
- Experiences-Based Learning
- Service-based growth
- Engagement contributes to long-term sustainability.
- Awareness leads to inclusiveness.
There's more to college than what happens in the classroom. The Office of Student Life and Leadership at CGCC provides opportunities for you to get involved, enabling you to interact with other students and faculty, pursue your interests, give back to the community, and grow as an individual.
